I've complained a lot in other threads about the NBA having a 'Warriors/Cavs dynasty problem'. Well I think at the very least this year we have something much more interesting to watch as NBA fans than just waiting around for Lebron and Curry/Durant to get into the finals.
Sure, that could still happen. But this year its much more likely not going to, especially when it comes to the East. Several rookie debuts through Game 1 were outstanding and make me excited to see what team's rookies can carry their teams deep into the playoffs and maybe even into the finals.
Ben Simmons (76ers) and Jayson Tatum (Celtics) were easily the two most fun to watch in my opinion so far. But a handful of rookies this year are immediately making a positive impact on their series.
Who do you think will be the best rookie performance out of the whole 2018 playoffs? Gotta give my vote to Ben Simmons at the moment, especially as he could be facing an epic showdown with Lebron in the East conference finals.
2018 NBA Playoffs: Top rookie performances through Game 1. Great guide for catching up on all the most impactful rookies through Game 1; a good indication of who will continue to have success through the whole playoffs.
