Patriot's Owner Calls Out The League Over Brady Ruling

Well, this is pretty unprecedented. Robert Kraft, the NE Patriot's owner and arguably the most powerful member of the 32 team NFL commission (that basically controls the entire NFL) just called out the league and Goodell in one fell swoop.

After NFL commissioner Roger Goodell denied Brady's appeal of a 4-game suspension for the Deflategate scandal, apparently Kraft took this news very personally. Here's what he had to say ---

Tom Brady is a person of great integrity and is a great ambassador of the game, both on and off the field.

Yet, for reasons that I cannot comprehend, there are those in the league office who are more determined to prove that they were right rather than admit any culpability of their own or take any responsibility for the initiation of a process and ensuing investigation that was flawed.

I have come to the conclusion that this was never about doing what was fair and just. Back in May, I had to make a difficult decision that I now regret. I tried to do what I thought was right. I chose not to take legal action. I wanted to return the focus to football.

He also said point blank later on in the press conference talk -- "I was wrong to put my faith in the league".

Strange statement coming from a man that is such a powerful member OF the league. Kraft isn't separate from the league, he basically IS the league. Or at least his name and views go and have gone a long way in shaping the league into what it is today.

All I'm sayin is that Kraft calling out 'the league' as if he isn't a sitting board member is absurd. He is just hurt that for once his pull didn't end up helping out the way that he wanted. Kraft apparently wanted special treatment and consideration. And since he didn't get it, he is basically crying to the media about it.

Agree with me that Kraft is way out of line here, OR does he have any kind of valid point in his outrage?

I think he's just upset that he didn't get his way. If it went the other way then he would be praising the league for their right decision, but since it went against him he has to lay blame on anyone other than the team that he owns and his quarterback who cheated and got caught.

Instead of questioning the character of the NFL commissioner he should be questioning the character of his quarterback. Brady is lucky that he only got a four game suspension. I thought he deserved a hell of a lot more. He may have been cheating for his entire career. We will never know if he has been or not, but I find it highly suspect that he just happened to start cheating fifteen years into his career and not before.

Good point. He has definitely been doing this longer than just a game or two just last season. Brady and Belichick are both very smart. I seriously doubt it took them this long to figure out deflating footballs. And doesn't seem like either of them would have waited to start doing it over grappling with integrity issues.
