Big 12 Has Two Champion Teams This Year

In my mind, there are two teams for the Big 12 conference that will take the win for me this year, TCU and Baylor. That is something that not many people would have imagined a few years back. Though now, both of these teams have proven themselves to be worthy competitors. No doubt, most all of the credit has to go to Baylor’s Art Briles and TCU’s Gary Patterson for their expertise in stacking the foundation brick by brick.

“It’s almost a perfect storm how it’s come together for both schools,” said Mark Packer. Who owns a SiriusXM Radio talk show on college athletics.

I love it when this happens. Not just because everyone loves an upcoming underdog, but because thee underdog(s) is slowly turning into the the master. Twice!

Without other teams in the mix, who do you have your money on this year? TCU or Baylor? I need to see a few more things before I make my call just yet.

Being from Texas myself, I've grown tired of Texas and even A&M to a lesser extent being the only talked about teams from this state. I'm from Dallas. So those teams aren't in my backyard enough for me to root for.

Finally though we have TCU. And Baylor. It's ridiculous how DFW has risen in college football over just the last few years. Now all we need is SMU to figure out how to get in there somehow (much taller order though, they need better matchups and whatnot to even ever be considered).

I'm partial to Baylor myself. ( I know they aren't really in Dallas, or even the greater DFW area. But close enough)

Baylor seems to have the perfect recipe this year. I don't see many teams at all that will be able to stand in their way. Then again, you never know until the game is over.

Well, can't say I completely agree with you here. Check out there schedule:

    9/4 - SMU

    9/12 - Lamar @ home

    9/26 - Rice @ home

    10/3 - Texas Tech

    10/10 - Kansas

    10/17 - West Virginia @ home

    10/24 - Iowa State @ home

    11/05 - Kansas State

    11/14 - Oklahoma @ home

    11/21 - Oklahoma State

    11/27 - TCU

    12/05 - Texas @ home

Games in bold, I would worry about. Kansas State and West Viriginia aren't pencil in wins either.

If they do win out, they will have earned a playoff spot for sure. I think at least.

That 11/27 game will tell all! Might even decide the national champion contender. I too hope it's Baylor.
