I am really excited to see If Serena Williams can pull out yet another win this year. I'll bet on that she will. She is the obvious choice for anyone to pick this year, considered her record. On the other hand though, she's only human and can be beaten. There are a few people that have the skill set to take her out this year, but they would have to be better than their best. On top of that, Williams would have to be off her game a little. Though as I said, I don't see it happening. I am rooting for her all the way to the win.

Now as for the men, there is one person that will win. Novak Djokovic. He is the counterpart to Serena. They both are well oiled machines in this sport. The only person Novak has to worry about is of course, Roger Federer. Being that he just came off of a win in Cincy. Momentum will be on his side.

Here are the odds for the contenders of this years U.S. Tennis Open:

    Women's:

    • Serena Williams: Even
    • Simona Halep: +1,200
    • Victoria Azarenka: +600
    • Maria Sharapova: +900
    • Belinda Bencic: +2,000
    • Garbine Muguruza: +2,000

    Men's

    • Novak Djokovic: +120

    • Roger Federer: +700

    • Andy Murray: +300

    • Stan Wawrinka: +1,200

    • Kei Nishikori: +1,400

    • David Ferrer: +12,500

Oh yeah. Serena won last year and has not slowed down at all since. She's leagues above her competition, so I don't see a way where she loses.

For the guys, I think it'll be either Djokovic of course, or Murray.

If I'm not mistaken, this will be Serena's chance at an actual Grand Slam. (all 4 majors in the same calendar year). Looks like the odds are heavily in her favor too. Good deal.

You're right. The best she has ever done is 3/4 back in 2002, but she has never won the Grand Slam before.

It would be awesome to see her win it this year. She's the hands down favorite, but she does have a big target on her back. All of the other players would love nothing more than to prevent her from achieving the feat.

Serena has been looking really good so far. I would be shocked if anyone is able to topple her, especially after Maria Sharapova dropped out. It would be awesome to see her win the Grand Slam this year. I think that all lingering questions about her being the best ever should be thrown out the window if she wins.

The men's side is a little more interesting. I would love to see a Nadal-Djokovic final match, especially since no American stands a chance of winning this year. That would be a fun championship match to watch.
