Mid-American preseason basketball rankings prove pre-polls are a joke

I think this year has proven to me more than any other that pre-season college sports rankings for basketball are just completely useless.

Coaches, experts, pundits, fan, AP polling for who will win what conference, who will most likely repeat and all that jazz seems to always be wrong, outside of maybe the most obvious of conferences.

Take Mid American conference preseaon rankings. Preseason was Akron, Kent State and Ohio to top the East. And Central Michigan, Toledo and Western Michigan to top the West. In reality it's currently Akron, Bowling Green and Buffalo in the East, and Northern Illinois, Ball State and Eastern Michigan in the West. So they got 1/6 right so far?

I know it's only 6 weeks into the season. And that's only about a fifth of the season play. And technically those rankings could easily play out.

But it's worse and more annoying than that too. All the polls usually wildly disagree. And I can't seem to find any reliable preseason ranking that more often than not knows what's up.

Just a venting thread here really.. but if you have the same annoyance and frustration I do toward all this senseless ranking before any game is actually played like I do, feel free to vent below too.
