Finally. An act I can look forward to.

I'm not a Bruno Mars, Madonna, Beyonce, or Katy Perry fan. So it's been a while since I have cared to watch the halftime show. But I have been a Coldplay fan for a long time now. More so with their early stuff (first 2 albums), but I think they are making a great comeback.

They did a good interview with CBS over it. Worth a watch:

    Should be good.

I'm also really looking forward to their performance. It's been a long time since I've actually looked forward to the Super Bowl half time show. Actually, this will be the first time I'll actually watch one in years!

I think it's a little odd. I am also a Coldplay fan, but think it's kinda strange for them to be in the spotlight of arguably the biggest event in the U.S.. I would definitely prefer them over any new-age band that has been getting it recently. But wonder how they were able to snag the bid over the others.

Good question. I have seen that asked a lot lately actually. "How did THEY get it?" all over the web kinda thing. I think with their Head Full of Dreams album doing so well lately, it catapulted them to the top of the list. That, and all the other big acts going right now have just done a halftime show. Also, I think they wanted to mix up the genre selection a little bit. Too many pop stars in a row is too predictable. ... Is Coldplay pop now? Sorta right?

Heard they are going to have Bruno Mars and Beyonce on stage with them. So much for not being pop stars. Either way, should be good.

Yup. I just saw that. That's pretty dissapointing.

It was a great halftime show! They didn't make it all... poppy, like I thought they would with Beyonce and Bruno. The ending with the "Believe in Love" in the stands was awesome. I did think it was strange they the entire performance was obviously cropped for television viewers only. We got to experience so much more about the performance than the fans actually there did.

I was thoroughly impressed with the half-time show, especially the finish. It was really uplifting.
