It's all about numbers people. This year, there are 11,000 athletes, 6,000 coaches who will live in over 3,000 high rise apartments, which have 13,000 toilet seats, 215,000 clothing hangers, and 18,500 beds. The only problem is that those apartments don't have bathroom drawers, which could hold the 450,000 condoms the Olympians will be issued this year. Broken down, it's 350,000 male condoms, 100,000 female condoms, oh and lets not forget 175,000 packets of lube. That's almost 42 condoms per athlete.

This number of rubbers is 3 times that of the 2012 London Olympics, which was 150,000. So why so many condoms? For the most part, it is to prevent the spread of the Ziki virus. I'm sorry Rio, you can't just throw a bunch of condoms at a problem, and expect that the virus won't spread. Oh, and I hear tell that Australia has issued antiviral condoms to their athletes, they're taking the Zika ball and running with it there.

Wow. So.. 42 condoms per athlete.. dividing by 17 days or so of events.. that's what, a little less than 3 condoms they supply for every single athlete, for every single day of competition. Where are they getting the time??

You have to think about it. There are many events that are over with in just the first week of the Olympics. Athletes of those events get to sit around and watch the festivities. So if you think about it, 3 condoms a day might not be enough for a bored athlete. ;)
