I really want to see this in action. But you need a Samsung phone, a Samsung VR headset, AND an NBA League Pass subscription to be able to get this.. the NBA is live streaming 1 game every week of the regular season, in virtual reality.

Will have special VR commentary, and basically they are trying to create a 'court side' feel to the experience, hoping that in the future this idea will catch on and they can charge per game, just like buying actual tickets to the game. (once perfected and more mainstream of course.) I think this is a badass idea. Baseball and football no doubt will be next to do this.

Anyone have the league pass, and the gear to try this out? Let me know if it lives up to the hype.

I don't know why, but it kind of creeps me out. I think it reminds me of the movie Gamer a little bit, where people are sitting in dark rooms, blissfully partaking in VR. It's a cool concept, I'll give it that, it's still not worth switching phone platforms, in my opinion.

I think this is a cool step in the right direction. Probably going to be loaded with bugs for a while. And not to mention, I've had a the VR Headset. The thing heats up quicker than my oven. I had to rig up a 70mm fan with a battery pack on the front of it just to keep it cool for average gaming. Without that (well known) mod that I did, it would cause the phone to overheat and shut off after about 15-30 minutes of use. I can't image what streaming in anywhere even close to HD will do to it.
