It's finally getting interesting, and pretty clear. Thoughts on college football playoffs final 4? Here's my thinking---
Alabama (8-0), Clemson (8-0), Michigan (8-0) and Texas A&M (7-1) are currently in the playoffs. Though I do not see the Aggies holding to the 4th seed. We have 4 regular season games to go, and the conference championships as well. Plenty of opportunity for A&M to drop the ball, like they tend to do.
Alabama seems the only lock here actually. Anyone think they don't win out, and win the SEC Championship too? As much as I'd like to see that NOT happen, it will.
As for Clemson, I totally see them going undefeated into the conference games, and should win the championship there too, unless Louisville plays like people thought they would at the beginning of the season, and pull the massive upset. As much as the Tigers have tried to give games away this season, it wouldn't shock me.
Then there's Michigan. Ohio State will make or break their season. They play each other in the last game of the regular season, and it seems they are the 1,2 favorites to win the Big Ten conf. If Michigan wins both, I think you can make the argument for Michigan as #1 overall. But either way, #2 minimum.
Circle the LSU/Texas A&M game as well, at the end of the season. I don't think the Aggies will win that game, but if they do, and they win out (important), they just might make it after all. Of course, they have to also show up to the SEC conference games. But lucky for them they have Alabama there, so when Alabama wins the championship there, it won't necessarily hurt the Aggies, unless they play each other and it's completely embarrassing.
It's finally that time of the season where I think we can pretty accurately predict the final four CFS teams. Alabama will be there, almost certainly. Then it seems that it will be either Michigan OR Ohio State, depending on that head and head and conf final game. If Clemson falls AT ALL, I think Louisville could sneak into that #3/4 slot.
Teams like Washington (8-0) I don't think have any chance. Their conference is weak, and they haven't played anybody. Ohio State and Louisville have the best chance to join Alabama in the top 4. With the Aggies having to impress to hang on as well.
Being a former Aggie (for one year at least) I still root for them. Though I feel a Michigan/Alabama championship game coming on strong.
