It's like we're all living in a reality show. The President of the United States tweeted that he directed our Vice President to leave a football game if the players took a knee during our National Anthem. I feel like that sentence is the result of a Mad Libs game.

Earlier today our Vice President, Mike pence tweeted a photo of himself at the Colts vs 49ers game. Shortly after, Pence left the game due to the protest during the National Anthem. Trump, which I should remind is our POTUS...., then tweeted in support of Pence, saying that he directed our VP to leave the game if there were any protests.

    The tweet from Trump:

    Donald J. Trump ?@realDonaldTrump

I asked @VP Pence to leave stadium if any players kneeled, disrespecting our country. I am proud of him and @SecondLady Karen.

First of all Trump, Pence, everyone at the stadium, everyone at home, and everyone else around the world that keeps up with the U.S. knows that it was going to happen. This was Trump poking at the NFL. This was our President going out of his way to irritate everyone involved with the protest and the NFL. This was Trump using another high-up member of our government to make a completely pointless statement.

You know, I have a feeling that both Trump and Pence, once again our President and Vice President of the United States, have something else to do. I can't quite put my finger on what they could be doing other than going to football games and tweeting, but I'm pretty sure something needs to get done that's more important than those. Maybe natural disasters? Or maybe terrorism? Maybe millions of people starving and homeless? Maybe the situation in North Korea? Maybe our disastrous healthcare system? Maybe government employees using entire budgets to fly around the world in private jets to stargaze and go on vacation? I don't know.... Now that I say it out loud, I guess football and Twitter is where we all need to be focusing our attention.

Unfortunately this is Trump's MO all the way. Redirect attention to tabloid nonsense and try and get his hardcore fans at rallies to cheer for him. He's a celebrity provocateur first and foremost and I don't think he is nearly as interested in being presidential.

Your list is good. You should tweet him that post. :)

Now that I think about it from that point of view, you're absolutely and unfortunately right. What does a reality TV star do to stir up drama and get the attention on themselves? They do stuff like this. It's blowing my mind that this happened today. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of stuff that is wrong with the current administration, but this really put it in perspective to me. There's so much wrong with America and the world right now but they are going to football games, tweeting, and intentionally stirring up drama?

Do you think I am correct in my assumption that this was completely set up? I cannot believe that Trump and Pence didn't think this was going to happen.

Oh yeah, for sure. He wouldn't have told Pence that otherwise. It makes sense. He wanted this drama. So yeah I definitely do think it was choreographed.

So what do you think the specific motive is here? I can't believe our President did this specifically to stir up drama and be narcissistic. Is this like what we've seen before when stuff like this is purposely done to pull attention away from an executive order or bill being passed? Is there something shady that Trump is trying to do under the radar? Or maybe it is as simple as narcissism.

Not sure. There are so many issues going down at the same time, would be hard to say he is doing this to get attention away from X thing, especially if his admin is doing something behind the scenes or something that is not getting news coverage like it should.

I think in general he would rather have the media focus on this controversy than his actual policies and diplomacy (or lackthereof).
