Oklahoma Sooner's Quarterback, Baker Mayfield has won the Heisman Trophy. After collecting 732 first-place votes and 2,398 points in the voting totals, Mayfield now has the third highest percentage of possible points since 1950, a whopping 86%. This will be the sixth Oklahoma University player to win the Heisman Trophy. That's quite a record.

Most everyone predicted this as a sure-fire win for Mayfield. He took the No.2 Sooners to the playoffs, and was 2nd ranked passer in the nation with 4,340 passing yards and 41 passing touchdowns.

Mayfield said, "This is unbelievable for me. It’s something words can’t even describe. It’s such an honor."

Oklahoma's QB Baker Mayfield - 2,398 points and 732 first place votes.

    Standford's RB Bryce Love - 1,300 points and 75 first-place votes.

Louisville's Quaterback Lamar Jackson (last year's Heisman winner) - 793 points and 47 first place votes.

Well deserved. So now I'm wondering if he will be the top QB taken in the draft. From everything I have heard, scouts aren't projecting him as the best NFL ready quarterback. More like the 4th or 5th.

    2018 NFL Draft Prospects

For a while it was Darnold and Rosen. I think it still may be. But CBS is thinking it's Lamar Jackson first. Then Mason Rudolph. Then Rosen and Darnold. And Mayfield after all those guys. Which means that Mayfield could fall into the 3rd or 4th round. Might be a steal. I think he would make an excellent backup for a team with an already established qb situation.

Maybe like the Ravens, Bengals, Steelers, Chargers, Lions, Falcons, Cardinals. All those teams have established qbs that only have 5 or so years left in the league.
