Logano won, and it was a fun race to watch. Tuned in and out periodically. Seemed dramatic and all that. The race had crashes (guilty pleasure), close calls, all the tops racers.. everything you'd want from the night. Except..

What in the hell was up with the most convoluted rules format this event has ever seen? You seriously needed a pen, paper and calculator to keep up with it all.

I know rules change every year, and they will certainly never do this BS again based on all the backlash.. but still. Announcers were confused. Drivers were confused. And there's just no way that the casual fan truly understood the format either.

It was so alien to the way things usually go. As it's even too complicated to bitch about here, here's an article ranting and raving in enough detail to fully get the gist.

Also, Tony Stewart was pissed (not like that's rare, but yeah) :

Nadal could meet Djokovic in the semis. That's needed to settle this debate. Hope it happens.

Odds have since come back to earth. Nyquist is once again the favorite. As of now anyways.

10 of the last 19 Kentucky Derby winners went on to win the Preakness Stakes. 4 of the last 5 did, more recently. Makes it pretty likely odds-on favorite Derby winner Nyquist will do so as well. Nyquist's still the favorite for the Preakness (as of now), and looking at all the other competition, doesn't seem like anyone can match up well against him.

Only 2 horses from the Derby are confirmed to re-race against Nyquist. That to me is pretty telling that they would just rather not try again. While I don't think Nyquist will win Belmont, I have little doubt he takes the Preakness with ease.

Anyone going to bet against Nyquist, given the stacked odds in his favor?

I want to be in the horse naming business.

"Nyquist comes around the final turn, followed quickly by Creator, Exaggerator right on their heels, with Outwork pacing several legs behind".. or whatever.

Looks like Nyquist is gaining the most hype right now. Cool name too, reminds me of How To Train Your Dragon.

And all this time I just assumed 'derby' was some obscure racing term, meaning race track or something. Funny how the rich legacy their names over all the place.

Rams should take Goff. I think they will. Then the Eagles should take Wentz, and immediately throw him in. Bradford is sub-par at best.

Double digit wins in the first two games vs Houston, and Warriors are without Curry, the best player in the league. Proof positive the Warriors are about to repeat. Think Golden State will just sit out Curry for the remainder of the series, seeing how they are so good at shutting down Harden and company without him?

Tar Heels as a school in general are more suited for this game. Just psychologically speaking, as they have actually been in the final four before. Doesn't even really matter the arena
