The Big Ten has had an up and down year in college basketball, but the conference does seem to be ever so slightly on the rise after a slow start to the season. Two teams are in the top ten in both the USA Today and the Associated Press polls and one of them surely has the chance to capture a number one seed if they win out the rest of the season and capture the conference tournament title.
There are still a whole host of scenarios that could prevent this from happening, but I just don't see any other teams than Wisconsin and Maryland duking it out for the Big 10 Tournament title. The only other team in the Top 25 is Ohio State and I just don't see them knocking out either Wisconsin or Maryland in the tournament, but crazier things have happened.
My guess is that we will see a rematch of last weeks game that saw Maryland eek out a victory over Wisconsin. The only problem for Maryland is that they will no longer have the home court advantage. The tournament is being held at the United Center in Chicago, which will be a neutral site for nearly every time. I say nearly because the United Center is a second home for the Fighting Illini, but they have had a lackluster season at best and aren't really expected to do much in the Big 10 Tournament.

Turned out to be Wisconsin v Michigan St. Who would'a guessed? Wisconsin wins out, in OT. And looks like they will be a #1 seed after all.
