Shaun White just pulled off the best halfpipe run I've ever seen. On White's 3rd run, he had to beat the 95.25 score turned in by Ayumu Hirano of Japan. So what'd he do? He topped it with a 97.75 to win the gold medal. It's incredible that he beat out all the new competitors and did two insane tricks he's never been able to pull off, all while coming back from a bad injury. He was practicing the 1440 (you see in the video) in October, when he smashed his face into the frozen halfpipe lip. A total of 62 face stitches and just a few months later, he wins the USA's 100th Olympic gold medal.
"I said to myself, you know you’ve got this. This is what you’ve done your whole life and career. Savor this moment. Because you just might win the Olympics."

He seems like a really humble guy too. To see him break down like was really telling.
