Used to be if you didn't catch the Daytona 500 live on TV or in person, you just missed it. Then it was the same, unless you had a blank tape and a VCR to record. Then, DVR. Now the internet in all its glory gives us full race replays of the entire Daytona 500 event, many times including the pre and post game action and the video uploaders have the right mind and courtesy to also edit out all the ads. Tech has come a long way. :)
I am just old enough to have lived through every iteration of watching this race and for that fact re-watching it as it became more and more possible. Now it's as easy as a click and free to boot.
Been re-watching some moments from a few of my favorite races. Mainly re-watched the last 45 minutes or so from 2018's with Austin Dillon. Then skipped to Dale Jr. winning it in 2014. He was the runner up in so many races surrounding that win just was a cool moment to see him finally get that notch on his belt.
Those were my two favorites from the last decade. Anyone else find themselves wanting to rewatch these old races?
My dad is more of a casual NASCAR ran, but he always made sure to catch the Daytona 500 every year. Some of my earliest memories are of watching the race with him.
The race that is forever etched in my memory is the 2001 Daytona 500 that Dale Earnhardt died in. It's one of those things that never leaves your memory if you watched it live.
Thanks for sharing the link to be able to watch recent races. I'm looking forward to re-watching a bunch of them.
Nice. I like to rewatch the last few laps. Highlights are cool. Thanks. 2005 with Jeff Gordon winning was my favorite of the last few decades.

Bonus points for creativity I guess. Pretty entertaining.
