I'm stunned, after 14 years Tiger Woods battled back through so much to capture yet another Masters win. We have another thread going on about this but I wanted to start a somewhat different conversation now. Where does Tiger go from here?
He won it all in 1997, 2001, 2002 and 2005. And now he has won the Masters more times than any other golfer besides Jack Nicklaus who got 6.
Jack Nickalus still has the most major wins of any golfer ever at 18. 6 at the Masters, 4 US Open wins, 3 Brit Open wins and 5 PGA Champ wins.
Tiger is again second on the list with 15 total -- 5 now at the Masters, 3 at the US Open, 3 at the Brit Open and 4 at the PGA Championship.
Tiger Woods is 43 years old and at one point not that long ago he was ranked in the high 100's for best golfer in the world. As of today he will clearly be back in the top 10. Perhaps top 5, maybe even 1-3. Can he find it in himself to vie for more major wins to seriously challenge Jack's 18? He is only 3 away. Though winning even one is so hard with the competition of today.
I figured Tiger was done, like most. But he proved every single doubter wrong and now he is basically the living embodiment of one of if not the best come back stories in sports history. I have to think now he has at least 3-5 more years of competitive play left, judging by the fact that Phil Mickelson is 48 and still competing at a high level.
Where does Tiger go from here? Do you think this was a one-off or is Tiger, the Tiger of old, back and in full force?
