Going for a two point conversion to "win" with a minute left is stupid

So North Carolina didn't learn the lesson I keep telling against Clemson.

Even if they make that two point conversion, they still probably have to defend against a game winning FG. Clemson has 4 downs and can take risky up for grabs throws to win the game. Unless there was like 25 seconds or less, going for two to win at the end is always a bad bet.

I always hate that call too. It's the coaches way of saying he doesn't believe in his own team's defense. Usually teams do it out of desperation because they feel like they have nothing to lose. Either they are a bad team or they are competing in a game way over their head.

In this case Clemson was clearly the more talented team and NC didn't think they had a chance to begin with. They had no confidence in their defense and didn't want anything to do with overtime. That's disappointing because UNC held them to just 21 points, 14 until less than 10 minutes to go.

UNC's coach should have had more faith in his team down the stretch. They could have beat the #1 team in the country.

I didnt like it either myself but were also talking about Mack Brown who is very old school... That was a Switzer move and a Schembechler from the 80's and 90's..But what made it difficult to see was that Tar Heels were beating them on every level at each aspect of the game..On one hand ya.. may seem like hes not displaying confidence but on another he is.. to me he had that ass backwards tho..LOL I think this Tar Heel team best identifys with an older coach like Mack if they use a bit of 'emotion" in there style of football.. I think thats the only thing thats gonna drive this team with such an older coach.. What I didnt like was (and I am obviously a Tide fan) seeing and hearing so many talk about knocking Clemson back so far afterwards.. Hey as long as they are winning.. I am not saying NOTHING.. they are doing there job.. and these polls really dont mean alot to me anyways till at least game 6-7 minimum.. but I hated seeing so many people willing to just condemn them for a game they wound up winning..

As long as they remain top 4, doesn't really matter. They'll be in the playoffs regardless. You're right. A win's a win. Poll makers wanted them to win by double digits and penalized them for not doing so. But as long as they don't lose they'll be in.
