NFL.com writer, Adam Rank has been doing the NFL mock draft for over three years now along with the likes of Daniel Jeremiah, Charles Davis, and Maurice Jones-Drew to name a few. I enjoyed reading his summary on why he made his picks. It's entertaining at least.

"This is not to be a predictive piece by any stretch, but instead I will use my consulting services to help nudge teams in the right direction and tell them what they should do on April 23. If some of these teams had listened to me in recent years, Derwin James would be on the Bucs, D.J. Moore would be on the Packers (see I'm impartial) and Josh Allen would be a member of the Bills. Oh wait, the Bills did listen. You're welcome, Buffalo."

Its a solid 1st round mock. I totally agree with #1 and #2. Though this assumes no trades, right? That never happens. Actually I kind of buy into the Redskins trading down or taking Tua instead. Even though they should take Chase Young. They have a long history of being dumb.

As for my Cowboys, an edge rusher? Maybe but I am thinking it'll be a corner or even a WR. I like Adam's thought process on it and it would be a good fit. I just don't think Dallas will go that direction. But it does depend on who is left on the board at 17.

If 1-16 gets shaken up with a run on QBs and there are some crazy trades, a top tier CB could fall. That's what I am most hoping for.

Seems like all the folks on NFL.com agree with these two as well. Even with updates, they both remain the top two picks.

Rank got 4 out of the top 5 taken. The only difference was the Lions took Jeff Okudah and the Giants surprisingly took tackle Andrew Thomas. A curious #4 pick imo. Seemed like they could have traded down a little and got an extra pick down the road and still got Thomas. But said the same thing about their curious QB pick last year and that has turned out a bit better than most expected.
