Pretty amazing. Rob Gronkowski apparently was still on the payroll of the Patriots. I didn't know that. He left the NFL for network TV doing analyst work with Fox Sports, and that seemed to be the end of his NFL career.
But now he has been traded to the Bucs, and joins Tom Brady yet again. This time though on a complete different team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Bucs gave up a 4th round draft pick, in exchange for Gronk and a 7th. Seems the Bucs got the better end of that deal, if Gronk is anywhere near the player he was just a few seasons ago.
As the video suggests, I do think both players are going to benefit from a completely different team atmosphere, and Gronk always made it known he wasn't the biggest fan of how Belichick ran things. So this does make sense. Likely part of Gronk retiring in the first place was because the Patriots were so strict and he is a big kid at the end of the day and just wants to have fun. He should a lot more fun in Tampa I would think. Hope he can stay healthy.
