NBA Teams to Create Home City Bubbles

The NBA has approved for the teams that aren't in this year's playoffs to create their own home-city bubbles. All eight teams that didn't make the playoffs back when the NBA closed down for a bit now have the option to making this happen. The plan allows for the teams to have voluntary workout groups and possible scrimmage matches if all goes well. This approval allows for the teams to begin practices around mid September.

    This includes:

    Knicks

    Warriors

    Minnesota

    Hawks

    Cavaliers

    Timberwolves

    Pistons

    Hornets

    Bulls

I think it's a great idea to let these teams get the jump on this. The league hasn't seen any issues yet out of the situation so going forward with this idea is probably best, at least for while. Let the teams set up their home bubbles so they can continue on practicing and holding scrimmages when possible. It's not Disney, but I would imagine the team's home cities can provide adequate accommodations.

Double practice too. They get to practice the game and practice how to live in a bubble. Which, who knows, might be what they have to do next season. So its good to have the protocol down and work out all the kinks during the off season.

I think they'll continue the bubbles on through next season. They're investing way too much money into these bubbles to not use them beyond this season alone. I'm interested to see what direction they go and how they apply all these changes going forward.
