Well this has been a crazy year for sports. At first everything was normal, then postponed indefinitely, then slightly opened, etc. Then we got a pretty decent resemblance of normalcy back in sports here recently. And now the MLB Playoffs are upon us! And even though it's not exactly how it was last year, I'm probably more excited for this year's playoffs than I have been in a good while.

For the first time ever, 16 teams will now face off in the MLB postseason. This makes things much, much more interesting. The schedule for this year is insane. The next few days the Wild Card schedule has 24 games in just 4 days, starting with the first round on September 29th, with the last round on October 2nd. That's going to leave half of the teams still standing and a whole lot of frustrated fans when their teams get sent home.

Who does everyone think will win this one? I'm thinking it's a good idea to stick with the experts this year and say the Dodgers will win, but that's without me following the MLB as much as I normally do. Most everywhere I've seen is saying the Dodgers are basically a shoe-in, but you never know until gameday.

Has been pretty fun so far. I'll go with Tampa Bay. I think they can beat the Mets and whatever team comes along in the ALCS. I would say it'll be the Dodgers coming out of the National League. That would be a great World Series - Rays v Dodgers.

Tampa Bay just won the Stanley Cup. They might win the World Series. And they now have Tom Brady on the Bucs and will vie for a Super Bowl... good times for that city.

Agreed, I think it would make a great world series between these two teams. Has a city ever won all three in one year? Or all four big championships even?

No team has ever won all four. Looks like the only city to ever win three in the same year was Detroit in 1935, for NFL, NHL and MLB. There are 17 cities that have won two in the same year. Most recently Boston when the Patriots and Red Sox won in 2018.

Interesting wiki to look at it:

    Multiple major sports championship seasons

So if Tampa Bay pulls it off, it will be the first time since 1935. A shame they couldn't vie for the 4 in a row as they don't have an NBA team.
