College baseball changed the way umps call 'hit by pitch' balls a few years back. Basically now if the batter appears to be making a move to hit the ball, even if its a wild pitch that ends up hitting the batter, that's still a strike.

I totally agree with TCU's coach here. It's a nonsensical rule that can only be justified on paper. When you see it in action no one in their right mind that's played baseball before can justify nailing a batter with a wild pitch and penalizing the batter with a strike.
