My beloved Fighting Illini became the first #1 seed to go down in the 2021 NCAA Basketball Tournament, abruptly ending their best season in well over a decade.

I am still a bit in shock after watching their loss, especially since I really believed they had a legitimate shot at winning it all this year. Going down in the round of 32 just doesn't seem right.

That's what "win or go home" is all about though. I gotta give credit to Loyola Chicago for being the better team in the game. Being from Illinois, I guess this will be the team I'll be rooting for going forward.

That was a shocking loss. I think they might have been the second most picked team to win it all behind Gonzaga.

Absolutely. I had them losing in the championship game to Gonzaga. It didn't even cross my mind that they wouldn't get out of the first round.

Everyone should have known this would be a bracket busting year. Nothing has been right. But which teams do you pick to get upset? So much randomness this year.

Yep. It's been all over the place. There was no way anyone could have made a serious and thought out bracket this year. If someone said they had it all figured out then they were wrong.
