NCAA Tournament - Big XII is the strongest ranked conference, by far

4 conferences have 7 teams in the tournament this year - ACC, Big Ten, Big 12 and the Pac-12. But with Kansas in the big xii, looks like they are the conference to beat. Not just that, but look at all the Big XII seeds:

#1 Kansas, #2 Oklahoma, #3 West Virginia, #4 Iowa State, #5 Baylor, #6 Texas, #8 Texas Tech.. all these made it in.

Kansas is easily the highest ranked team in the nation. And no surprise they landed a #1 overall seed. But with all their seeds #8 or higher, no other conference is as collectively as highly ranked on paper. Or has as many teams that could realistically win it all. Sooners and Mountaineers also have a serious shot. Maybe even Baylor. I have my doubts about Iowa State doing much. But we'll shall see.

ACC is a close second, maybe even tied. They have two #1 seeds with UNC and Virginia. No other conference can say that. And given that 12 of the last 17 champions were #1 seeds, I think the argument can be made that the winner will come from the ACC more likely than the Big 12.

Texas Tech goes down to Butler. So down to 6 in. Iowa State has a 12 point halftime lead, so looks like it's a good bet most of the big 12 teams make it into round 2.

    Let's see...

West Virginia, Baylor, Texas and Tech all lost.

ACC still has 6 in the tournament.
    Big Ten - 4.
    Pac-12 - 2.

SO really Big XII is the 3rd worst. But they still have Kansas and Oklahoma. Both could win, and that's all that really matters.
