Yep. Johnny Manziel is now being indicted for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley. The woman says that she is now deaf in one ear due to the incident. Apparently the whole fight was over another woman. I think this is the nail in the NFL coffin for Manziel. NFL players have been known to come back from assault and other cases, but this one is different when compared to all of the other things he's been in trouble for lately. I've never seen a professional athlete be so unprofessional.

If it was up to me, the NFL would completely close the door on him.

I think they are getting close. Brown's seemed to have moved on anyways. Plus it's not even like his an amazing talent. He's a backup qb at best.

Maziel makes his first court appearance today. I guess we'll see what happens. This case will pretty much determine his career, I think.

Since we've been witnessing sports leagues and organizations becoming increasingly commercialized over the past 5 years, I don't think players such as Manziel have a place anymore. These days, NBA, MLB, and especially, the NFL are all about image and ratings. We are even starting to see the NHL attempting to "clean up" their act as well. The subject is polarizing, yes, but it gets the punks off of the field in order to make way for players who actually deserve to play in their respective leagues.

I would like for this to be true, but... in the same league you have players like Greg Hardy. Seems to ultimately come down to talent above all. If Manziel was talented enough, a team, some team, would find a place for him, once the dust settles. The problem with Manziel outside of all this is that he simply isn't that talented of an NFL quarterback. Not that all teams would turn a blind eye. But at least a few teams would seriously consider overlooking almost any grievance, if it would make their team better. If Manziel had Andrew Luck's ability, this would be a different story.
