Olympic swimmer almost disqualified for falling into pool

    Miguel Duran Navia, a swimmer representing Spain, was lining up with the rest of the swimmers in a heat that would determine who would swim in the final of the 400 meter freestyle. He appeared to be rocking forward slightly, and fell forward into the pool.

    It was sad to almost see a very young Olympian's dreams dashed. He gathered his stuff and was about to leave, but surprisingly enough, the judges gave him a second chance. You don't see that all too often. It could have been worse, instead of gracefully diving in, he could have belly flopped. ;)

    Yeah, I saw this yesterday on the news. Probably the best moment of the Olympics so far, when he came back. Was the right call to let him race, after all, one honest mistake shouldn't exclude you from something you have worked years for.

    I agree. I think it would have put another strike against Rio if they had.
