I had left the TV on MSNBC, and when I came back they were showing dressage, which is for some reason an Olympic sport. The rider was riding her horse at low speed around a low corral with the horse doing all kinds of nifty moves with its feet at the riders command. Sometimes the horse was lifting its hoofs up high, sometimes going sideways, sometimes appearing to dance, all the while with someone in the broadcast booth giving expert commentary on the quality of the horse's moves. Finally a score was announced.
Well okay...but why should an Olympic medal be given to the rider when the horse does all the work? Next owners with dogs from the Westminster dog show will also be asking to compete in the Olympics.
