It is unknown at the moment if the Longhorns can hold up to their short lived, high expectations this year. At the start they were doing so well. What happened? They were ranked pre-season Top 10. Had a record of 10-1. And even reached number 6 in the entire country. Now they are 14-8, and have shot all the way down to 11th seed. My question is, why? What changed from the start of the season till now? I know their losses were to high ranked teams. But even still. It seems like their momentum just went out the door.

I hope this will be a story with a good ending. They have great potential to make it through the tournament. Maybe even get far.

Yeah. I saw the headline a bit ago questioning if they might get left out. Had the same reaction. Are you serious? What happened? I think they'll make it. But they have looked bad the last few weeks. And its almost a proven fact that you need momentum to carry you through the tournament. I don't think they will make it far this year, if they do make it in.

Well their 4 game losing streak was just broken by beating Kansas State 61-57. They've got 7 or 8 games to go. I think they will make it after all, even though its been rough to watch. They're not a bad team, but not very good either. If they can beat TCU and Tech next week, that should do it.

Following up on last comment.. Longhorns take care of TCU easy 66-43. Game was never in question, and they looked good tonight. Not that TCU is the best measuring stick. But they did what they needed to do; dominate a weaker opponent. Now at 16-8, things are looking up. Hard to imagine they skid all the way out of the playoffs after righting the ship well the last 2 games.

Sooner matchup tomorrow night will go a long way in answering this. I like when Texas is in the tournament, even though I'm more of an aggie fan. Either way, always like to see tx teams take down any OK team, in any sport.

My thoughts exactly. When you're from Tx and any game with OK comes, it's time to throw down. Doesn't matter which team.

Tried and failed. 69-71, Sooners. Looks like it's going to come down to wire for the Longhorns after all.

ESPN says they will make it, based on quality of wins. Will be close, but looks like they will be a low seed entry after all. Glad to hear it. They have played well to end the season, and deserve a shot to make a run.

#11 seeds in the Midwest. I'm kinda shocked... First up, #3 Butler in the 2nd round. I wouldn't hold my breath on a W there..
