I had no idea about Hogan's story until recently when they were talking about it in comparison to Tiger, on local radio. Pretty insane comeback he had. But I agree, the age difference and Tiger's pre-existing back issues make it unlikely.

He's hands down one of the most accomplished athletes in history so he doesn't have anything left to prove. I'm also just glad it wasn't fatal.

Props to the Buccs defense. They completely dismantled the Chief's Oline. And Brady was pretty great. I think that was their most dominant game all year, and it just shows how great Brady, Gronk and that defense is when the lights are the brightest.

I certainly wanted Mahomes to win. But its clear the better team won.

The Detroit Lions traded away QB Matthew Stafford to the LA Rams, in exchange for their QB Jared Goff, plus a 2021 3rd round pick AND a 1st round pick in 2022 and 2023.

That's amazing, and it clearly says the Rams lost faith in Goff a long long time ago and think Stafford is leagues better.

I think this is actually great for both teams. The Rams are Super Bowl contenders defensive wise already. And I do think that Stafford is a significant improvement over Goff, who is just average. All the pressure will be on Stafford though to deliver now.

And for the Lions who seem to always be in rebuild mode, they get a competent QB and the ability to draft key playmakers around Goff for the next 3 years. OR ya know, draft a better QB in that time.

Think Stafford will make the most of his new team? What are the chances he gets to the Super Bowl in let's say the next 5 years?

James Harden is reuniting with Kevin Durant, as the Nets just became a superteam, and the Rockets just got a whopping four first-round picks (along with four more pick swaps) for the huge trade.

Does this make the Nets the team to beat in the East? They also have Kyrie Irving, even though he has been absent as of late... With no team in the East pulling away, if egos can stay in check this might be the NBA Finals favorite for the next few years.

Then there's Houston. They set themselves up so nicely to rebuild, and got rid of the headache that is Harden in the process. Who do you think came out better in this deal?

I was skeptical about the NFL wanting to expand the playoffs, letting more teams in. And also them taking the #2 seed's bye away from them. All seemed like a money grab and that it would water down the quality of teams and play in the wildcard round.

But have to admit I was wrong. This is better. Only one team from each conference getting a bye puts more pressure on the #1 and #2 seeds down the stretch to compete. There's more excitement about extra wildcard team getting in, therefore making more teams compete at the end of the season. And you get triple headers on Saturday and Sunday!

You enjoying the new version of the NFL Playoffs as much as me? The NFL doesn't have a great rep for changing their format with the times, but I think they did a good move here, and of course they profit from it but I think so do the fans and the game.

DeVonta Smith caught 105 passes for 1,641 yards and 20 touchdowns. That's good enough to lead the entire country, in every category. He's the frontrunner to win the Heisman and would be the first wide receiver to do so since 1991 (Desmond Howard).

Been a weird year to say the least. Stats may mean less significant this year than most. But doesn't mean brilliance shouldn't be rewarded, and Smith's season was definitely that. Also noteworthy that he wasn't even necessarily the #1 passing option in Alabama until Jaylen Waddle got hurt in late October.

Other finalists are Alabama's QB Mac Jones, Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence and Florida's QB Kyle Trask. QBs and RBs almost always get the Heisman. I'm definitely rooting for Smith and think its time a wideout got it, after almost 30 years!
